"TRIBULATION"

“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of All Comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.  For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.  And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.  And our hope of you is steadfast, knowing that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.”  (2 Cor 1:3-7)

“In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

This is a message regarding tribulation.  It is a message that is widely rejected, and one which most would                                                                deliberately tune out by shutting their spiritual ears that they might not hear.  For such love to hear that life as a believer would be free of sorrow, of pain, of trial and of the testing of our faith.  Yet, I am not instructed by the Lord to share a “feel good” doctrine of falsity so as to gain your approval and/or praise.  I am compelled by The Lord to do but one thing, that is to declare the truth WITHOUT compromise and it is up to hearer to receive it or reject it.  The life of a believer and TRUE follower of the Lord Jesus Christ will not be free of “TRIBULATION”.

It is written, spoken by The Lord Jesus Christ as he shared with his disciples that in the world we shall have tribulation.   Yet the message commonly delivered throughout the church today is the exact opposite.  It has been said that every Christian should be living a very prosperous, joyous, healthy and happy life and if our lives are imperfect in these areas, we then must be in sin and are being punished by the Lord.  In fact, those who are suffering much persecution and various trials today are often labeled as one who lacks faith or one who is a sinner.  This is a message that cause many to stumble, many to lose hope, and many to turn away from what they know to be the truth.  It is spiritually damaging to the believer who has clung to his/her  faith only to be told their suffering is a result of having NO faith.  Or, the believer who has repented of his/her sin, only to be told the suffering is DUE to sin. Such may become bitter towards The Lord rather than seeing Him as a merciful, loving and kind Father, he/she may begin to view Him as harsh and unfair.  And those who cause his brother or sister to stumble in this manner shall indeed be judged by the Lord and held accountable for leading one sheep astray.  For while it is true The Lord desires his children happy, healthy, joyous, etc. and has promised to take care of our every need, there was never a promise of a life free of trial and tribulation.  In fact without trial, there can be no spiritual growth and we learn from each trial and tribulation we endure.  As Paul noted above in the scripture reference given, as we are comforted and strengthen during tribulations, we are then able to comfort one another with the same comfort and as we stand in the midst of the storm we can be an example to another who may be suffering in the like manner.

Not only will the true follower of Yeshua suffer tribulation individually, but the church (Body of Christ) as a whole shall suffer tribulation in these last days according to scripture.  The Lord describes some of the things that shall take place before the end, much of which we are experiencing today.  He said there would be wars, pestilences, famines, earthquakes and the like in the book of Matthew chapter 24.  But note he also said that these were only the BEGINNING of sorrows, indicating greater tribulation shall follow.  He said that we shall be hated by all nations for his name sake but that those who endure to the END shall be saved.  If Christians are unprepared, we will not be able to endure when persecution and tribulation comes upon us.   One cannot be prepared as long as he/she is clinging to the falsity that all would be perfect in his/her life.  This sort of doctrine will leave a believer totally unaware of the things to come, thus when sudden tribulation strikes they will faint and lose hope having no spiritual stability.  They will seek out man for the answers, clinging to his every word of the promise for peace and better days ahead.  Yet, there can be no peace WITHOUT the prince of peace as it is IMPOSSIBLE that man can deliver this promise to you and thus fulfill it.  He is not the Creator, and has no ability to bring upon the world TRUE peace.  He can give a false sense of peace and cause you to place your hope in a lie but for the believer, his hope shall be in THE LORD for HE is our Savior, NOT man.  Preparation comes through knowledge of the Word and the Word is very clear as to the things that are to come and what one must do to endure.  You cannot rely on man to “sound the alarm” prior to individual persecution and tribulation, for man has his own agenda and if they’ve not declared to you the truth thus far, they never will.  Thus you  must cling and rely solely upon the Lord, putting your faith and trust in HIM and HIM alone as ONLY He can deliver.  Man shall make promises, but his promises shall fail him AND you.  If you cling to the word of man and put your trust in him, you will not be able to endure the end times.  ONLY the word spoken by our Lord through his prophets and his apostles is of truth.  Thus it is important that every believer on the Lord Jesus Christ KNOW what the Word of God says, and DO IT!  For your own spiritual safety and endurance, YOU must know for yourself what the Lord has spoken in His Holy Written Word.

“TRIBULATION” comes upon the believer suddenly and swiftly.  There are NO advanced warnings indicating one is about to suffer thus it is nearly impossible to prepare in the midst of it all.  Again, preparation comes only through knowledge of His Word and thus placing ALL faith and trust in HIM ALONE.  Because he said in his word that tribulation would come we know in advance that it is so, it is only a question of when.  But, if our faith is in the Lord and we are confident in Him and His Word, we shall be able to endure to the end.  Sadly, many turn from the truth over the slightest test or trial for they know not that when one becomes a Christian life would NOT be perfect as many preach it shall be, thus because they are unprepared for tribulation they cannot endure and thus fall away and turn back to their old life.  The Lord spoke of this in the parable he’d given concerning the sower.  He explained how some seed would fall upon the way side, some upon stony places, some among thorns and some among good ground.  The seed that fell upon stony places is that of those who believed in the beginning but because of lack of preparation of trials and tribulation, loose hope and turn back.  Here’s what the Lord said in his word: “Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: and when the sun was up, they were scorched: and because they had not root, they withered away.”  (Matt 13:5-6)  and he gives explanation of this as follows: “But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receive it: Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.”  (Matt 13:20-21)   Thus it is of absolute importance that the one delivering the word and sowing the seed speak ALL the truth concerning life as a Christian Believer and not half truths in an attempt to lure one in for selfish reasons and ill gotten gain.  To not deliver the WHOLE truth is a sin before Almighty God for it sets a new born believer up for failure causing him/her to stumble and fall away.   Remember this the next time you attempt to sow the seed, PREPARE the sheep of the Lord.  DO NOT leave them idle and alone to discover when it is too late that indeed the believer WILL suffer persecution and “TRIBULATION”. But as the Lord declared “BE OF GOOD CHEER, I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD”  In the midst of calamity, of persecution, of trial and GREAT tribulation, our HOPE remains in the Lord who has overcome it all!  PRAISE BE TO THE NAME OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR YESHUA!

I love you all so very much. Have a blessed week in the Lord and remember: Whatever we do, do ALL for the GLORY of GOD, who ALONE is worthy of the GLORY and the PRAISE!

The Lord be with you this day and always!  Shalom Uvracha (Peace and Blessings)……..
