Timely Insights into God's Word from Khandielese Reyes | |
This Weeks Message- (scripture taken from King James Version) THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL If
any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord
Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing
nothing, but doting about questions and sztrifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings,
evil, surmisings. Perverse
disputing of men of corrupt minds, and destitute to the truth, supposing
that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. But godliness with contentment is GREAT GAIN. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is
certain we can carry nothing out. And having
food and raiment let us be therewith content. But
they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful
lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For
the Love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they
have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (1st Tim 6:3-10) There
seems to be much said in the form of teachings these day within the church, on
the subject of prosperity and the how, where
and when to obtain such. In fact, there are
more teachings on obtaining great wealth then there is on repentance,
forgiving one another, walking in love, surrendering all to Christ, taking up ones
cross and following Him and so on, which these things are far more valuable and
spiritually edifying than wealth. Although
Im not at all against the message of prosperity for I believe it is the Lords
will that His children prosper and be in good health, I am however against believers
becoming so caught up with the desire to be wealthy that they become the
servants of such, rather than servants of God.
For No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and
love the other; or else he will hold on to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. (Matt Herein
is The Root of All Evil, the
LOVE of money. Money in and of itself,
sitting idle can do no harm. but when it is placed in the hands of one whose heart is
consumed with LOVE for it, this can then do much spiritual damage. From it derives all manner of evil and wickedness,
selfishness and greed, temptations and foolish lusts causing men and women to become heavy
laden with sin and do the unthinkable simply to obtain more. Even to the point of placing a cost on ministering
the gospel with denying the sheep adequate meat unless they pay a price. And turning the House of Worship into a marketplace
while the sheep are spiritually starving as many are unable to purchase the meat you have
offered, thus they are left to fend for themselves. Gimmicks,
coercions, speaking untruths, implanting fears, defrauding and the
like
.my, what many wouldnt do for the LOVE of money! This is not at all pleasing to the Lord in fact it
grieves him to see His sheep neglected of food. If
a man were dying of hunger having no resources to buy food and you had the means to feed
him, would you have compassion on him and give him meat?
I believe that many would, however isnt spiritual death FAR WORSE? Thus, when a man is dying of SPIRITUAL hunger and
you having the spiritual food to feed him, why then is the meat offered with a price? If he had not the wherewithal to purchase the meat,
shall he then spiritually die of hunger? FREELY YOU
HAVE RECEIVED, FREELY GIVE The
gospel is not for sale! As you have so freely
received, freely give it to others in return and trust the Lord (as the sheep are told by
you) to provide for YOUR every need. Yes,
the LOVE of money (not money in itself) but the LOVE of it IS The ROOT of ALL Evil. Yet, a root cannot exist unless first a seed is
planted, then nurtured, given nutrients, and watered.
Do not nurture nor feed the seed of love for MONEY allowing it to take root
in your heart where it will begin to cause spiritual decay, but command that it from this
moment forward will dry up and wither away. It
is NO sin to enjoy the things the Lord so freely give you, but DO NOT become a servant to
such. There are greater treasures that wealth
cannot even be compared to. Lets begin
and end with the GREATEST most VALUABLE TREASURE
LOVE! The
ROOT of ALL GOOD! I
Love you all so very much. Have a blessed week
in the Lord and remember: Whatever we do, do ALL
for the GLORY of GOD, who ALONE is worthy of the GLORY and the PRAISE! Kadosh, Kadosh, Kadosh,
May the peace of the Lord be with you today and always KhandieleseDaughter & Servant of the Lord God |
