“Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong; there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations.  A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.  The appearance of them is as the appearance of horses; and as horsemen, so shall they run.  Like the noise of chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devoureth the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.  Before their face the people shall be much pained: all faces shall gather blackness.  They shall run like mighty men; they shall climb the wall like men of war; and they shall march every one on his ways, and they shall not break their ranks: Neither shall one thrust another; they shall walk everyone in his path: and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded.  They shall run to and fro in the city; they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses; they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.  The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining: And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the LORD is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?”   (Joel 2:1-11) 

“The coming of The Lord” shall be swift.  There will be no time to prepare or make the right decision to receive Him and follow Him once the trumpet has been blown.  Throughout this year, many believers and unbelievers alike have been asked the question: “Do you know where you will spend eternity?” and “Should the trumpet sound today, this moment, are you ready to meet the Lord?”  Many have shied away from these questions while there have been some who’ve quickly and boldly proclaim Yes, I know where I will spend eternity and Yes, If the Lord should return today I am READY!  But, are you really?  To be ready is to be prepared and yet there are so many that are spiritually unprepared.  The Lord declared in His word regarding the signs of the times and the End of the age in the book of Luke chapter 21:28 “And when these things begin to come to pass, then LOOK UP, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh”.  And what are the things he’s speaking of?  According to the scriptures they are the signs that shall indicate his coming is near: “distress of nations, bizarre weather patterns, earthquakes, pestilence’s, wars and rumors of wars, outlandish crimes rampant upon the earth, and many other signs”.  Never in all history have these signs been so visible, and yet many are not heeding to his advanced warnings.  Many have turned a deaf ear and have shut their spiritual eyes.  Rather than looking up, many are looking elsewhere.  And, rather than heed to HIS warnings, many “professing” believers are seeking for the words of man as if he or she may have the answers to what comes next, or how much time is left!   The Lord MOST DEFINITELY speaks through his prophets, and we must ALWAYS heed to the prophetic words spoken from the Lord through his true messengers, however we must not rely SOLEY on a prophetic word while blatantly disregarding the prophecies spoken by the Lord already in HIS WRITTEN WORD!  He who has (spiritual) ears and eyes, let him both HEAR and SEE!  The Lord would not have given warning, if He didn’t desire that we should be prepared!  Therefore He has commanded that we WATCH, continue steadfast in prayer, for since we know NOT the day or hour, we must be ready for any given moment and while we wait with great expectation, be about The Fathers business and not just sitting idle, doing nothing.  His word declares that he will come at an hour we least expect, thus it would be foolish for anyone to think preparation can begin at the hour of his return, or that one could continue to live unrighteous before him, and quickly repent of the sins upon seeing his face.  No, NOW is the hour to turn from wickedness, repent and surrender completely to him.  NOW is the hour to prepare for even if the Lord should tarry, tomorrow is NOT promised to anyone!

My prayer for this coming year 2004, would be that we ALL who profess to LOVE HIM, profess to have RECEIVED HIM, would TRULY SURRENDER TO HIM, holding NOTHING back, but giving ALL to Him.  That we would stop “playing” church and truly BECOME “THE CHURCH” Loving EACH member as we would love ourselves AND as we PROFESS to LOVE HIM!  That we would reject ALL that is not of Him, and receive ALL that is!   That we would REPENT of all sin and allow The Holy Spirit to create in us a NEW HEART!  Where it would be holy, clean and acceptable in His eyesight!   That we would yield ourselves to him as WILLING vessels to be used for HIS glory and we would take His message of Repentance, of Love and of Salvation to ALL, from drug addicts to the physicians, the prostitute to the virgin, the rich and the poor, the young, old, black, white, red, yellow, EVERY NATION, EVERY TONGUE, ALL PEOPLE rejecting NO ONE, that ALL may have opportunity to hear and receive the gift of eternal life, and may have HOPE during the perilous times ahead that no one should be caught unaware!  For surely “The Coming of The Lord” IS NEAR…..and shall be SWIFT!
