“SWALLOWED UP BY THE TRUTH”

 “And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, “When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent.” And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.  Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.   For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.  And he hardened Pharaoh’s heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said.”  (Ex 7:8-13)

Throughout history, satan has always attempted to mimic the things of God.  Through trickery and deceit, he has managed to cause many to believe and accept his lies as being that of truth.  Beginning with Adam and Eve, he cunningly twisted the words of Yahweh in such a way that it aroused temptation to do the exact opposite of what was commanded of them.  The Lord was clear in his commandment to Adam in that he declared: “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” (Gen 2:17)  Yet, knowing what the LORD had declared, knowing what he had spoken to them,  the woman and man still took the risk of disobedience being fully persuaded by the words of the father of ALL lies.  What would make one so easily tempted into believing a lie and forsaking the truth?  Well, when we read the words of the serpent as given to Eve he declared to her the day they eat of the fruit their eyes would then be opened and they would be as “gods”, knowing good and evil.  Thus, the seed of temptation to sin against The LORD was then planted, but they had yet to succumb to the temptation and had opportunity at that moment to rebuke the lie of the serpent, declare AGAIN what The LORD had commanded, and say NO to the desire to be disobedient to The LORD.  The enemy had managed to implant his very own desire into the heart of man that they to would sin against The LORD as he did.  For from the beginning his desire was to be LIKE GOD, not to worship but to BE worshiped, not to serve but to BE served, and to have the power, knowledge and might as The LORD GOD.  The “thing” created, desired to be GREATER than the one who created it”, and this evil temptation has since been placed upon the hearts of anyone who would welcome and receive it.  But, again the temptation was there, but Adam and Eve did not surrender to it until Eve did ONE thing, she LOOKED at the tree and SAW IT through the eyes of the enemy.  Before, it was just a tree where the fruit was forbidden to be eaten, but AFTER the devil had spoken and the lie was received, it then became a tree where it’s fruit was MORE desirable than all the other trees and where this fruit, upon eating, would then make them wise, as God.  “And when the woman SAW that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree DESIRED to make one WISE, she took the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her: and he did eat.”   Thus, what caused their fall was not just the lie told by the serpent, but RECEIVING the Lie as truth, and then ENTERTAINING the desire in their hearts.  Satan will attempt to destroy the truth, and corrupt the heart of man any way he can.   Through trickery, through deceit, through lies, WHATEVER it takes, that he will do to persuade man to sin against The LORD GOD. 

From the first moment he (satan) opened his mouth by speaking through the serpent in the Garden of Eden, he lied and has continued in his well known craft of lying, of twisting the truth, of futile attempts to imitate and be as LORD GOD, to this date.  But, NO lie shall remain forever.  No lie posing as the truth will remain hidden, but shall indeed  one day be exposed for what it really is.  For every lie be it small or great shall inevitably be “Swallowed up by The Truth.”

In the book of Exodus, chapter 7 beginning at verse 8, The LORD gives commandment to Moses and Aaron on what they should do in the presence of Pharaoh king of Egypt, to demonstrate the POWER of The LORD.  Aaron’s rod, once cast down before Pharaoh would then become a serpent and all eyes there would then visibly see the POWER of YAHWEH.  But, the enemy had plans of his own.  Through sorcery and enchantments, he cause the “magicians of Egypt” rods to also become serpents as Aaron’s.  Thus, when the people would see the “magicians” rods as serpents like Aaron, they would then not believe on the POWER of GOD.  However, there was something different in Aaron’s rod as oppose to the “magicians”.  Their rods were transformed into serpents through trickery, but Aaron’s rod was transformed into a serpent by the POWER OF YAHWEH and being GREATER than trickery, their rods of deceit was “Swallowed up by the Truth.”

The enemy is good at his “CRAFT” but NOT GREATER than TRUTH!  However, he easily deceives the hearts of many that are not GUARDED by the Truth.  If the door to one’s heart  is even slightly opened to deception, he WILL enter in and fill one’s mind and heart with things OPPOSITE of the Holy Scriptures, even to the point of twisting the scripture to mean one thing, when it truly means another.  This is how false doctrines are formed in taking one portion of scripture and interpreting it to read opposite of truth and once received in the heart, this falsity is then spread to others and we then have a body of those believing and operating in a LIE.  His craft of lying is so perfected that he would even cause the lie to appear to be as truth, and many then believe for perhaps it sounds logical, making sense to the natural man and yet having no value to the spiritual man.  His GREATEST LIE is “God does not LOVE you….”  He has perhaps told this lie to every believer in Christ Jesus and to those who’ve yet to know the Lord as Lord and Savior. For a season, many fall for this lie.  Some may eventually wake up to the TRUTH, but some sadly may die believing it.   When “bad things happen to good people” this is when the lie is more easily accepted for the enemy plays on devastation and tragic situations of one’s life.  Immediately in the midst of continual sufferings, the enemy whispers the greatest lie ever told… “God does not love you”.  Then he would go on and on in an attempt to prove what he’s spoken as truth, by getting the one who’s suffering to look at the situation surrounding their pain.  “If God truly Loved you, why are you suffering so…” the enemy will say “God is angry with you, He doesn’t want you, you are nothing to Him, He is punishing you, etc. etc.”   When we let our guards down, and take ourselves out of the spiritual into the natural and begin LOOKING at things as they appear (as Eve did), we begin entertaining this lie in our minds and thus begin receiving it as truth.  The more we entertain the thought, the easier it becomes to believe.  But, to believe this lie is to NULLIFY the Crucifixion, for this lie has LONG SINCE been “Swallowed up by The Truth” as the scriptures declare: “For God so LOVED the world, (you, myself, ALL) that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”   And again the Lord himself declared: “GREATER LOVE hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”  LOVE took Him to the cross, LOVE raised him from the dead, and LOVE will cause Him to return again for GOD IS LOVE!  Thus, we MUST believe the Truth and LIVE, or receive the lie and perish.

Beloved brethren, we are living in a perilous and difficult time.   The enemy, knowing he has but a short time left will do anything possible to harden the heart of man.  This is his last chance, his final attempt to capture as many as would believe and FOLLOW.  Because of the shortness of time, MORE lies will begin to spread, MORE false doctrines and enemies of the cross, MORE half truths, MORE imitation of truth for if satan has the power to transform (disguise) himself into an “angel of light” as it is written (2^nd Cor 11:14), surely he has the power to transform (disguise) a LIE into being the truth.   And, unless we be ROOTED and GROUNDED in THE TRUTH, unless our hearts be surely guarded BY the TRUTH, the enemy will most assuredly enter in with a lie.  Hold fast to that which you’ve learned by The Holy Spirit, and that which you’ve read and BELIEVED in The Holy Scriptures and receive NO other doctrine that is contrary to The Written Word of God.  Guard your hearts, guard your minds and ALL his lies and trickery shall be “Swallowed up by the Truth.”
