"POSSESS THE GREATEST GIFT"

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.  And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.  Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.  Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.  For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.  But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.  When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as  child, I though as a child: but when I became man, I put away childish things.  For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.  And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.”  (1st Cor 13:1-130

Throughout the word of God we can find countless of scripture with reference to the topic of love.  In fact the bible in and of itself is one great love story as the most quoted scripture of all declares: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)  Yes, it began with LOVE and shall end with LOVE and although love is the most powerful gift one can possess,   it is in my opinion as well as others,  the least demonstrated in the church today.  For the greatest commandment given to man was this: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” (Matt: 22:37) and the second was as the first: “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” (Matt 22:39) However, love is not operating in it’s fullness today within the body of Christ.  Instead we have disputing, dissention, jealously, bitterness, hate, anger, competition and the like in the midst of us and having thus, demonstrates a very poor representation of The Lord Jesus Christ to the world.  For a brother or sister to have the incapability of loving one another speaks clearly that such a one has never truly experience the Love of Y’shua our Lord.  For it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to KNOW of His awesome Love and be consumed by it and yet be unable to love others, for God IS the very essence of Love.  It is very possible however to know OF his love and yet never truly experience it, thus such a one would indeed be incapable of sharing as many are in the church today.  For to experience the Love of Jesus, one must first receive it and then allow His love to manifest itself in them through a personal, intimate relationship with the giver of this most blessed gift.   But many today receive his love through their confession only, and lack the experience and consumption of His love because they lack intimacy having no personal relationship with Him.  Thus, when it comes to loving others they wrestle with their flesh (being led by it), as the flesh is led by the emotions which desire the opposite of the things of God.

I’ve heard it said by many believers that they’ve been MORE mistreated, spoken evil of, and hurt by unkind, unloving speech from other “Professing” believers than from those who are of this world.  I, being a recipient  of such evil can strongly attest to this.  However, this should not be so within the body of Christ.  For it is the responsibility of EVERY professing believer to walk in LOVE one towards another according to the commandment of our Lord, and demonstrate to the world Christ and who we are IN Him THROUGH our outward love and kindness towards one another.   If the world can only see bitterness, bigotry, dissention and such in the church, then to them we are not “set apart” as a peculiar and different people, but have become or rather remained as they are.  Thus, the see no difference (other than by name) between an individual who profess to be “Christian”, and another who is not.  And through the “lack” of love in the church, the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ is mocked by the world.

We are commanded not only to love one another who are in the “body”, but are also commanded to love those outside of the body.  The lost sheep, who’ve yet to enter into the fold.  For we are not better than they, nor are we less of a sinner than they.  The only difference is we (Christians, but sadly not all) have REPENTED of our sins and have accepted the gift of forgiveness and salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord, and those who are of this world have yet to do so.  But, we are STILL sinners, saved by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, thus we should not become puffed up nor arrogant misusing this grace, but all the more should remain humble and eagerly desiring to share with others what our Beloved has given to us.  Therefore, it is imperative that we not turn away ANY who are seeking the truth, by displaying an unloving and unkind heart towards them having no mercy nor compassion. For if we do such, we shall INDEED be held accountable for every soul that entered into the gates of hell due to the arrogance and pride of the church who was unwilling to share the love of Y’shua with one of his very own lost sheep.  Neither should we judge a man based upon outward appearance, economical status, educational background and such as a reason to turn or receive him into the church  for this is foolishness and very displeasing to the Lord.  For many of you in the body judge a man’s worth based upon his/her physical appearance, and economical status as to whether or not he’s “worthy” of your love and acceptance when the truth of the matter is that NONE of us is truly WORTHY of the Love and Acceptance of Abba our Father, whether we are rich or poor, white, black, brown, red, yellow, educated (by the world’s standard) or uneducated, big, little, whatever the state of man, NONE are truly worthy.  Yet we’ve been MADE worthy THROUGH the blood of the sacrificial LAMB OF GOD, Yeshua Ha Machiach!  JESUS made us acceptable in the eyes of Abba our Father, we can do nothing of our own works to be “worthy” enough to receive His love.  Therefore, why must another, because of our “lack of love” feel they must work towards being “worthy” or feeling “worthy” enough to receive the love and acceptance of the church?  We must examine ourselves and CAREFULLY that we not continue to disgrace the name of the Lord in this manner.  For the world express their love according to the “flesh” as they are led by the flesh and driven by their emotions, YET the church (Body of Christ0 should be expressing our love according to the Spirit, being LED by the Spirit, and following the example of our Lord.  And if HE can love and forgive us, we ought to be able to love and forgive one another and express this love in genuine outward kindness.

While the church today seeks many gifts from the Lord, many spiritual gifts from the Holy Spirit, I pray that we would ALL seek to “Possess The GREATEST Gift” and that being LOVE!  For without it, everything else is meaningless.  For what good are “gifts” if we have not Love?  What purpose does it serve if one has outward “good” works, and yet inwardly is filled with bitterness and hate?  What good does it do to profess the “LIGHT” and yet not walk IN the LIGHT whereby shining that LIGHT in a wicked and darkened world?  What good is the confession, when the heart seeks the opposite?   “Possess The Greatest Gift” my friends.  Receive it, be FILLED UP WITH IT, allow it to consume you, and thus POUR IT OUT upon one another!  THIS is the commandment of our Lord, that we should LOVE one another…..EVEN as HE has loved us!

I love you all so very much. Have a blessed week in the Lord and remember: Whatever we do, do ALL for the GLORY of GOD, who ALONE is worthy of the GLORY and the PRAISE!

The Lord be with you this day and always!  Shalom Uvracha (Peace and Blessings)……..
