Timely Insights into God's Word from Khandielese Reyes

I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys. This Weeks Message- (scripture taken from King James Version)

"KEEPING THE WORD"

“And it came to pass, as he spake these thing, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.  But he said, Yea rather, BLESSED are they that HEAR the WORD OF GOD, AND KEEP IT!

The bible tells us to be not only “hearers” of the Word, but “doers” and the Lord declares here in the book of Luke 11:28 “Blessed are they that hear the word of God, and KEEP IT!

“Keeping the Word” is so vitally important for every professing believer as all to often, we “hear” the Word of God, memorize it in our heads for the purpose of reciting at opportune times, but we do not RETAIN it in our hearts.  Thus, whenever persecution arise, trials and tribulations come upon us we begin to confess the word we’ve memorized in our minds, but because we’ve not kept the Word in our hearts, because we’ve not been actual “doers” of the Word, because the Word has yet to take root in our spirits, we then lack the faith to believe!  You see, it’s not enough for one to simply “recite” the Word as even the devil can do this and has done it, but one must BELIEVE that what he/she is speaking IS INDEED the Holy Written Word of God and this word applies to EVERYONE who would have the faith to believe it!

The Word of God is the believers SWORD and a sword is able to destroy an enemy instantly when aimed correctly.  If a soldier drew his sword on another to protect himself when faced with danger, it will do that soldier no good to simply draw the sword, raise it in mid air and there it remain.  This would not ward off his enemy. The sword must be not only drawn, but also used in order to defeat his enemy.  So it is the same with we (believers) and our sword being the Word of God.  Just knowing the word exists will not defeat our enemy, for he knows it exists as well.  Just reciting the word will not defeat our enemy for He also can recite the word as well.  But, BOLDLY proclaiming the Word of God NOT from the head, but from the Spirit, WITH FAITH, THIS will defeat the lies of the enemy!  This will conquer the fiery darts!  This will send him running!  NOT just the word, but our FAITH when the word is spoken.  There is a big difference between “reciting” the word and PROCLAIMING the word.  When we recite, we usually speak something we’ve learned, something rehearsed, something memorized but lacking the POWER behind the SPEECH.  However, when the Word of God is PROCLAIMED it is spoken with surety, with boldness, with accuracy, WITH FAITH and what the enemy is looking for in our speech, is whether or not we have the faith!  Do we truly believe what we are speaking, or are they just idle words spoken.  His fear is our faith and confidence in the Lord and if there is just a small hint such is lacking, he will continue to attack.

The trouble with most of us is that we believe the word of God wholeheartedly, until we are tested in our own lives through some set of circumstance or devastating trial.  Whether or not we’ve been “Keeping the Word” will be determine by our speech.  Will the word be “recited” as if rehearsed, or PROCLAIMED with power and FAITH?   For many, it is merely recited.  Not because we do not believe, but for most we lack the faith to believe what the Lord did for someone else, he will do it for us as well.  We allow the enemy to plant thoughts in our minds such as “I’m not good enough; why should the Lord help me? I’ve not lived a perfect life; I don’t think I’m pleasing in his eyes; If only I were a better person, etc. etc.”  This sort of thinking we label as “unworthiness”, but in actuality it is a false sense of humility.  For surely God is NO respecter of persons, thus what he would do for one of his children, he would do for the rest as well.  The difference is the child who receives, has the FAITH to believe!  The very truth of the matter is every single one of us is unworthy to receive any good gift from the Lord, whether it’s deliverance, healing, financial restoration, a loving and godly marriage, a successful ministry or business, happy healthy children and the like.  We do not deserve any of this, thus to receive it has absolutely NOTHING to do with worthiness or unworthiness, but has everything to do with JESUS!  For ALL these things and MORE are offered by the Lord God to his children based SOLELY upon the blessed and loving sacrifice of the LAMB OF GOD!  Jesus has ALREADY paid the price, thus all we need to do is acknowledge this and RECEIVE IT with all thanksgiving of heart.  There is NO amount of “Good Works” that will earn us the favor and blessings from the Lord.  We can only receive them IF we BELIEVE!  To even think that another brother or sister is MORE worthy to receive a blessing from the Lord than yourself, is to call the Lord a liar for His Word declares that he’s no respecter of persons.  He has NO favorites, there are none that he loves MORE than the other!  Thus, if we believe so, we are also saying that His blood was NOT enough and that there is something WE must do to somehow earn His Love, His favor, His blessings, His fellowship….  The Lord has not made this complicating for us, it is simply a matter of having the FAITH to BELIEVE no matter what!

Therefore, we MUST study the Word, cling to the Word, allow it to take ROOT in our hearts and USE the Word of God BODLY and with FAITH!  Remove the sword, bring it forth and take a stab with it at the enemy!   For every believer at sometime in his/her life will be tested.  Some more than others, but EVERYONE WILL BE TESTED, and ONLY the sword of the Spirit coupled by our FAITH will defeat the enemy!  We must do all that is necessary in “Keeping the Word” and let it depart from our mouths with FAITH and SURETY!

I love you all so very much. Have a blessed week in the Lord and remember: Whatever we do, do ALL for the GLORY of GOD, who ALONE is worthy of the GLORY and the PRAISE!

The Lord be with you this day and always!  Shalom Uvracha (Peace and Blessings)……..
