“This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.  For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.  But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, reveling, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.  And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.  I we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the spirit.  Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying on another.”  (Gal 5:16-26) 

“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.  For they that are such serve NOT our Lord Jesus Christ, but their OWN belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple”   (Rom 16:17-18) 

The spirits of “strife and division” hovers boldly in and around the church and attaches itself to certain members of the body who refuse to walk according to the Spirit, fulfilling the commandments of our Lord to LOVE, and rather choose to follow the foolishness of the flesh.  Oddly, these individuals on the outward appear to be devout and “holy” men/women of God.  They have perfect attendance in your “church” services, are actively involved in almost every activity and program offered, and yet when disputes, arguments, and the like arise within the church, they are almost always involved whether it be they initiated the dispute, or a participant of it.  There appears to be in almost every place where brethren assemble together, at least ONE individual who is oppressed with these spirits and sadly those who are aware of them, do not openly rebuke them, but rather allow these spirits to operate and function in it’s full capacity, thereby causing havoc within the body of Christ.   

The scriptures tell us to “avoid” those who cause division as “evil communications corrupt good manners” (1^st Cor 15:33).  But, instead of avoidance, the church has welcomed such and have even engaged in their  foolish debates, mindless arguments, and idle gossip.  By doing so, you have now yourself become participants of these spirits, and have fulfilled the will NOT of our Lord, but of satan himself.  For these spirits have been sent for  the sole purpose of destroying the church and shaming the name of our Lord by the ungodly conduct of its members.  And the spirit of strive and division shall remain within the church as long as she refuses to REPENT and begin walking according to the Spirit.  For where there is LOVE, there shall be no existence of the negative works of the flesh.   

Not only for obedience to the Lord and for our own spiritual well-being, MUST we “Flee From Strife and Division”, but also we must remember that the world is watching and our conduct is a representation of who we are in HIM.   What a shameful manner some in the church have represented the Lord of Glory!  Shall we through our conduct make him appear to the world as being one who approves of strife, who loves division, who accepts arguments and disputes amongst his followers?  I should hope not!  Rather, shall we through our conduct reveal him to the world as one of LOVE, of peace, of joy, of FORGIVENESS, of hope, of acceptance, of unity, OF ONENESS!  We are to display Christ in such a way, that even if they world desire to speak evil of his church, through our conduct they could find no wrong.   Yet, I am ashamed to say that what the world says of the church today is of absolute truth.  For the church has displayed what the world has known since the fall of man.  Surely they’ve watched and have declared that we are no different from they.  For the very things that the church condemns the world for, we ourselves have participated and STILL participant in.  Remember that the world does not look upon believers INDIVIDUALLY, but judge the ENTIRE BODY as a WHOLE based upon the actions of ONE of its members.  When they see “greed” in ONE member, the whole body is labeled as such.  When they see one rejected by the church because of outward appearance, the whole body is condemned.  And all it takes is for the world to see just two believers disputing among themselves in bitter arguments and debates, or two “denominations” at war with one other over various scripture interpretations, for them (the world) to persecute and condemn the WHOLE BODY!  To the world, the church is viewed as HYPOCRITES!  And can we blame them?  The  behavior of “professing” Christians towards one another has been shameful to say the least.  And yet it is this way, because of the free-will choice by some to walk according to the Flesh,   and the absolute refusal by ALL to rebuke it’s conduct.   

EVERY single professing believer MUST be willing, and MUST make the conscious choice to put away the foolishness of the flesh and begin walking according to the Spirit.  PERSUE, CHASE AFTER, the fruits of The Spirit, MAINLY the ability and WILL to Walk in LOVE.  In doing so, the spirits of strife and division will not be able to find place within the body of Christ.  If you so choose to remain walking according to the lust of the flesh and fulfilling the evils thereof, NOT only will you continue to represent our beloved in a most shameful way, but for yourselves, you shall indeed cause hindrance to answers of your own prayers, AND lose your reward on that great and coming day of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Therefore, church “FLEE FROM STRIFE AND DIVISION”, let these evil spirits find no place in your members.  Neither let there be found bitterness, anger, hatred, envy, idolatry, adultery, fornication, uncleanness, witchcraft, bigotry, prejudices of ANY KIND, and all other manner of evil of which the world are active participants, but for the church LET IT BE NOT SO!    Be wise in these last days and not conduct yourselves as though you know not the commandments of our Lord.  Let us walk accordingly in HIS light, surrendering and demonstrating HIS love for surely the days are closing to an end.  May we not be found cowering in shame over our conduct when our Lord thus RETURNS!

WELCOME the Spirit, REJECT the deed of the flesh!
