This Weeks Message- (scripture taken from King James
Version)
"EAT
OF THIS BREAD"
And the LORD spake
unto Moses, saying, I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel: speak unto
them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with
bread; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God.
And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up, and covered the camp:
and in the morning the dew lay round about the host.
And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold upon the face of the
wilderness there lay a small round thing as small as the hoar frost on the ground. And when the children of Israel saw it, they said
one to another, it is manna: for they wist not what it was.
And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to
eat. This is the thing which the LORD hath
commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man,
according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his
tents. (Ex 16:11:16)
Then Jesus said
unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that
bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the TRUE BREAD from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from
heaven, and giveth life unto the world. Then
said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
And Jesus said unto them, I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE: he
that cometh to me shall NEVER HUNGER; and he that believeth on me shall never
thirst. (John 6:32-35) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that
believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am
the Bread of Life. Your fathers did
eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This
is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from
heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever: and the bread that I will
give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. (John 6:47-51)
In
the wilderness, the children of Israel began to murmur and complain for lack of food. Would to God (they said) we had died by the hand
of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread
to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole
assembly with hunger. (Ex 16:3) The
Lord heard their complaints and rained down manna from heaven that they may
eat. One would think after they received that which they cried out for, they
would then be satisfied. Their bellies would be full and there will be no
need for future complaints, and yet the manna that they ate still did not fill the hunger
within. Still empty, still desiring to be
filled, they cried out all the more for something better, something more tasteful,
more satisfying. However, all that they
reached for of tangible substance never truly satisfied the gnawing
hunger pains from deep within for the real hunger we ALL seek, desire and
inwardly cry out for is that of the spirit and no amount of tangible
substance can ease the pain of this hunger. Thus
the Lord says
.. Eat of This Bread for I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE, HE THAT COMETH TO ME SHALL
NEVER HUNGER.
In the world today, within the church and
without, professing believers and unbelievers alike are wandering
around in the wilderness as the children of Israel did, seeking for something to fill the
apparent emptiness inside. Forever is the
search of sampling manna here and there in the form of tangible
substances, and yet never finding satisfaction until the Bread of Life has been
eaten. Many cry out to the Lord please
give me this or that and I would be satisfied and upon receiving that which
theyve desired, they find the satisfaction was only temporal. Afterwards, becoming weary, as a child would with
an old worn out toy, they discard that which has been given and set out seeking something
else to fill the void. Many may spend most of
their lives searching, in and out of troubled relationships, succumbing to the
bondage of drugs and alcohol, indulging in sexual perversion and sins against the temple
of the Holy Spirit, seeking pleasure through the obtaining of great wealth, position and
titles and yet in the end are left STILL empty, STILL hungry, STILL
wandering, STILL searching and seeking for something to fill the vast emptiness the
things they obtained were unable to do.
Their satisfaction was temporal for they sought that which was pleasurable to the
FLESH neglecting completely the SPIRIT. All
that is of the flesh is temporary and will eventually fade away. This is why those things given to IT, only
bring momentary pleasure but ALL that is of the Spirit, is eternal.
Before anyone continues on this road of absolute utter
despair and self-destruction in the seeking of things, let me share
this with you. Beloved, you will NEVER be
able to fill the void you may feel inside with the things of this world for that which is
hungry, that which seeks to be fed is of the SPIRIT and not the flesh.
Thus, one cannot supply food for the spirit with tangible things. In the beginning, when God created man from the
dust of the earth, he became a living being AFTER the Lord breathed the breath
of life into him. This breath of life, mans spirit, is the part thats created in the image of the
Living God, and this part of man, which is the TRUE man, is the part that hungers, seeks,
desires, longs for, and need continual feeding, fellowship and oneness with the Lord. It is only natural the creation would seek
intimacy and oneness with its CREATOR. This is
the part of man/woman who knows, and longs for once again intimacy with the Lord God.
Before sin entered the world, man walked in total harmony and fellowship with God our
Father. This fellowship was broken through
the disobedience of Adam and although the flesh may not complain of the separation and
brokenness of intimacy, the spirit of man/woman DOES for again, it is the SPIRIT which was
created in the image of God, NOT the flesh and it is the SPIRIT which desires that which
it ONCE knew, NOT the flesh. The
flesh wars against the spirit and seeks not the things thereof, for it was the flesh that
was tempted to sin in the Garden and not the spirit, thus the flesh desires to go after
those things that would bring it even a moment of pleasure, for it seeks nothing of the
things eternal. For this reason, the flesh is
never satisfied and wanders about seeking and sampling anything that may fill it
up!
But
now, fellowship with our Father has been mended through the obedience of Jesus Christ our
Lord and ONLY this
bread
will fill us up and supply us with that which we TRULY seek, for the spirit desires
to be fed that which it has always known. But,
if only we would Eat
of this bread
(The TRUE bread from Heaven) we will never hunger and thirst for fulfillment. If only we would Eat
of this Bread
we can regain that which we once had, being true intimacy and oneness with the
Lord God. If only we would Eat
of this bread
we will discover that it has been the cry of our spirits, the hunger of our
hearts that was in need of manna the TRUE
BREAD
from Heaven, and not our flesh. For
if our focus remain upon only feeding the flesh, we will continue in hunger. But, when we Eat
of this Bread
our search for satisfaction is over, our hunger pains end, for then we become
truly filled!
I love you all so very much. Have a
blessed week in the Lord and remember: Whatever we do, do ALL for the GLORY of
GOD, who ALONE is worthy of the GLORY and the PRAISE!
May the peace of the Lord be with
you today and always
.
