Timely Insights into God's Word from Khandielese Reyes

I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys. This Weeks Message- (scripture taken from King James Version)

"ABIDE IN ME"

Thus Saith the Lord: “I am the true vine, and My Father is the husbandman.  Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.  Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.  ABIDE IN ME, and I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.  I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.  If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.  IF YE ABIDE IN ME, AND MY WORDS ABIDE IN YOU, YE SHALL ASK WHAT YE WILL, AND IT SHALL BE DONE UNTO YOU.  Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.  As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.  If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.  This is my commandment, that ye LOVE ONE ANOTHER, as I HAVE LOVED YOU.  Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.  Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.  Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.   Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.   These things I command you, that ye love one another.”  (John 15:1-17)

In these passages of scripture we receive a more clear understanding of who we are in Christ Jesus and the vital importance of abiding in Him.  Using the illustration of the vine and the branch, we can see how the Lord works in cleansing his children, how only the branches that bear fruit are purged and that which bears no fruit is removed.   To “Purge” means to make pure or clean, to free from sin or guilt, to rid of what is considered undesirable.  Just as a fruit tree or rose bush is pruned, where the wasteful parts are cut away to bring forth good fruit and allow precious rose buds to bloom, so shall it be for every believer that is purged by the Lord.  For if the wasteful parts are not cut off and are allowed to remain on the branch, they shall hinder the growth of the fruit.

The branch must also remain attached to the vine in order to bare productive fruit as a single branch in and of itself can bare no fruit without the substance, and the vine provides the substance.  Even nature would bare witness to this, for if one were to cut off the branch of a fig tree, soon that branch would begin to wither and die.  Having no substance, being detached from its source, it would then no longer have the means to bare fruit.  It is the same for the believer who detaches his or herself from the true vine, Jesus Christ our Lord.   Without him, we can do nothing.

Not only is it important that we abide in Him, but in order to receive answer to prayer, HIS WORD must also abide in us.  Let’s examine what the Lord has spoken, He says: ”IF YE ABIDE IN ME, AND MY WORDS ABIDE IN YOU, YE SHALL ASK WHAT YE WILL, AND IT SHALL BE DONE UNTO YOU”  Now here’s where many of us miss it.  I can tell you from first hand experience that the Lord does not respond rapidly to prayer which consists of begging, whining and pleading.  He is filled with mercy yes, and compassion, however what moves the Holy Spirit into action is reminding the Lord that which he has already promised in his word and  praying in THIS manner by Faith.  If one is sick in the body, begging the Lord to heal them won’t bring upon the healing, since healing has been provided for every believer more than 2,000 years ago when the Lord’s body was broken and bruised that ours may be healed.  When someone has promised you something,  and you have a legal document binding them to that promise, upon the day you expect to fully receive that which was promised, you wouldn’t go to the individual pleading and begging but will go to them fully expecting them to fulfill their promise and this promise  would be legally acknowledged by the signing of their signature.   If they failed to adhere to what’s been written, you would then take action.  Well, we to have a legal binding documentation filled with promises and signed by the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord.  It is His Holy Written Word, and now that we have a covenant with the Father which cannot be broken, we can go to him with boldness and assurance fully expecting to receive that which has been spoken by Him as we remind him of his word.  Now, you may say “I’ve been praying and praying for years to be healed and still I’m sick.  Why hasn’t God healed me?  Well, let’s examine how it is we are praying.  Are we praying in the manner of “Please Father, I beg of you, touch my body and heal me, if it be thy will…..”?  If this is the manner of prayer it must be changed in order to begin to see positive results of the prayer being prayed.  Why ask “if it be thy will” when His word declares that it IS his will.  If we are unsure of what his will is then we must seek his word for guidance and understanding.   But, when we KNOW that it is his will and desire that his children should be in good health, our prayer should then be:  “Lord, your word declares that with His stripes we are healed.  You said in your word that if I ask anything in your name you will do it that the Father may be glorified in the son.  You also said Lord that it is your desire that I prosper and be in GOOD HEALTH, even as my soul prospers.  In agreement with YOUR word, I confess it and by Faith I claim healing in my body…..etc”    Well, you may say I’ve prayed in this manner and still I’ve not received my healing.  The next thing to do is examine your heart.  Is there any unforgiveness there, anger or bitterness of any kind. Is there any dislike of another, hate hidden and tucked away in your heart for someone who’s hurt you in the past. If so, this must be purged out for such will hinder the manifestation of any blessing from the Lord.  He says in His Word that if we forgive NOT men of their trespasses, neither will he forgive us of our trespasses and of course if our sins have yet to be confessed and forgiven, we cannot fully expect to receive a blessing from the Lord, thus we pray in vain.   Again you may say: “I’ve done all of this, and my heart has been cleansed.  I hold no bitterness nor unforgiveness towards anyone.  I pray according to the word of God, and still my healing or   (whatever you’ve been praying for) has not come.”  Is the prayer being prayed in FAITH or merely reciting what he’s spoken.  You see, in order to RECEIVE we must first BELIEVE!   We can confess what his word has spoken, but do we TRULY believe it in our hearts.  We serve a God that cannot lie, who will NOT break his covenant with his children, thus if he spoke the word that word is TRUTH, but do we truly BELIEVE, or are we praying his word secretly hoping that what he said he would bring it to pass, all the while wrestling with doubt and fear.  FAITH is the opposite of DOUBT.  While faith says YES, doubt says…..I sure hope so.  The Lord reacts to our Faith, and even faith the grain of a mustard seed gets his attention.   Unlike man, God does not say one thing and mean another, He will not make a promise and go back on his word.  Once he has spoken the word is FINAL!  All he asks is that we believe when we confess his word of healing, provision, peace, joy, etc. into our lives.  Remember the words of our Lord: ”IF YE ABIDE IN ME, AND MY WORDS ABIDE IN YOU, YE SHALL ASK WHAT YE WILL, AND IT SHALL BE DONE UNTO YOU”  and THEREFORE I SAY UNTO YOU, WHAT THINGS SOEVER YE DESIRE, WHEN YE PRAY, BELIEVE THAT YE RECEIVE THEM, AND YE SHALL HAVE THEM.”

The Lord says: Abide in Me!  And let My Words Abide in You!  Then you shall ask what you will and it shall be done.  Walk in His ways, not ours and speak HIS WORDS…..not ours for ONLY HIS WORDS ARE TRUTH!

I love you all so very much. Have a blessed week in the Lord and remember: Whatever we do, do ALL for the GLORY of GOD, who ALONE is worthy of the GLORY and the PRAISE!

May the peace of the Lord be with you today and always…….
