Timely Insights into God's Word from Khandielese Reyes | |
This Weeks Message- (scripture taken from King James Version) "A DEBT NEVER PAID IN FULL" Owe
no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the
law. For this, Thou shalt not commit
adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in
this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore
LOVE is the fulfilling of the law. (Rom
13:8-10) Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us:
and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
But whoso hath this worlds good, and seeth his brother have need, and
shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word,
neither in tongue; but in deed and truth. (1st
John 3:16-18) Throughout
scripture, the command has been given to the children of God that we should LOVE one
another. This is not a suggestion, a desired
hope, nor a vain idea, but a COMMAND given by The Lord Himself. The message of love did not begin and end at the
Cross, (although this was the GREATEST demonstration of unconditional Love known to
man) but
has been with us since the beginning of time, upon the very first day of
creation, BY the very creator of LOVE himself, The LORD OUR GOD and the word declares that
everyone who loves is born of God and KNOWS God, for HE is the very essence of love. Those who love not have never known the LORD GOD
despite their declaration of such. Love, for
the believer is so vitally important that above EVERY COMMANDMENT given, it is deemed the
very FIRST and GREATEST of all and yet for many, it has been pushed somewhere down the
list of priority. When
the question was asked of the Lord what is the GREATEST commandment of all, he
replied: Thou shalt LOVE the LORD thy GOD with all thy heart, and with all
thy soul, and with all thy mind. THIS is the
first and great commandment (Matt 22:37-38) and he went on to say the following: And the second is like unto it.
Thou shalt LOVE thy NEIGHBOR as thyself. (Matt 22:39)
and he summed it all up by declaring: On these two
commandments hang ALL the law and the prophets. (Matt 22:40) Now, it cannot get any more simple than this and
yet I find it tremendously disturbing that above ALL things, this is the LEAST taught in
the church today. Every other message is
preached, and every other commandment taught, yet very little time is spent speaking on
these two most powerful and absolute necessary commandments. There are MORE men/women preaching on the message
of prosperity (among other things) then there is on the message of LOVING the
LORD OUR GOD and our neighbor as ourselves. Therefore,
before we continue in this foolish and spiritually damaging manner, let us stop now and
return BACK to the basics, for somewhere along the line weve missed it and the Lord
is no longer the center of adoration amongst the members of the body, but have only become
adored for what one can received of him! So, let us begin over starting with the FIRST and
GREAT commandment: Thou shalt LOVE the LORD
thy GOD with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Now, if anyone should say they are indeed
submissive to this commandment and yet have placed ANYTHING or ANYONE before The LORD GOD
whether it be in deed or in thought, are fooling themselves. For to TRULY LOVE someone with all your heart,
soul and mind, is to place that individual ABOVE ALL ELSE!
This means that such becomes the very center of ones adoration, and
all that you do is done with the very desire of pleasing that one you claim to love. Therefore, IF you indeed love the Lord God with
all your heart, soul and mind, then it should be quite simple to submit FULLY to the
second commandment which the Lord declares is LIKE UNTO THE FIRST: Thou
shalt LOVE thy NEIGHBOR as thyself. If
you struggle with the second commandment, youve yet to truly surrender to the first
for the second will follow closely behind the first.
Upon TRULY submitting to the first, the second will automatically and
NATURALLY follow. Now, to love ones
neighbor as oneself is not just in word, but in deed.
For there are many that are quick to utter the words I love you,
but acting upon that love through deed is not always visible. So what good is it to say, and not do! Love visibly reaches out to the hurting, is a
friend to one whod be considered friendless, encourages, prays, comforts, and
strengthen other members of the body that are suffering, and shares its worldly
goods with members who are in need. When one
member is hurting, all members react to that pain and when one is rejoicing, all rejoice
with it. The word declares that he who
has this worlds goods and see his brother in need, and yet close his heart of compassion
towards him does NOT have the Love of God dwelling in him.
For it is inconceivable to me that there should be one brother whos
wealthy and another brother whos destitute and poor, BOTH profess to LOVE The LORD
GOD, and yet the wealthy knowing his brothers
hunger, would not feed him but instead watch as he walks away in his pain. This is incomprehensible to me, beyond my
understanding how ones heart could be so hardened towards his brother. And yet, DAILY I witness this within the Body by
those professing The LORD GOD, placing MORE VALUE on worldly goods and wealth, than on the
need of a brother. Somewhere, the church
missed it! At some point the church
surrendered to selfishness and rejected compassion.
Every man to himself, to each his own, yet this was not the teachings of the
church of old nor was this the commandment of our Lord.
For in the days of the Apostles, when the church was striving and growing
massively, the message of love was not only spoken of but delivered. The value of a brother was far more important than
the goods they possessed so much so, that those who believed on the words spoken by the
Apostles sold their worldly goods and laid them at the Apostles feet, where the proceeds
where then DISTRIBUTED TO THOSE BRETHREN IN NEED!
Therefore the word declares that NONE suffered lack, but they had ALL
things in common! The church then grew in
number and was blessed of the Lord for in all they did TWO things were quite visible. They LOVED THE LORD GOD with all their hearts, all
their souls, and all their minds, AND they loved their neighbors as themselves. Their love for the Lord was quite visible in their
HUNGER and DESIRE for Him. They desired HIM,
and to KNOW Him, MORE than the desire of what
they could get from Him. They wanted to GIVE
more than receive, and He was the reason of their giving and the center of their adoration
and their love for their neighbors was visible in not only through their words, but in
their deeds! We should all this day
have that SAME Hunger, and demonstrate that SAME love towards one another for LOVE is A Debt Never Paid in Full. It is not something we do for a season, but is
something that is commanded of us and must be put into practice every day of our lives. It is the ONE thing that is everlasting and the
GREATEST of all that we may possess as the word declares Now
abideth faith, hope, charity (love) these three; BUT the GREATEST of these is Charity
(LOVE) (1st cor 13:13) Beloved, let us LOVE one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and KNOWETH God. He that loveth not knoweth NOT God; for GOD IS LOVE. (1st John 4:7-8) I love you all so very much. Have a blessed week in the Lord and remember: Whatever we do, do ALL for the GLORY of GOD, who ALONE is worthy of the GLORY and the PRAISE! The Lord be with you this day and always! Shalom Uvracha (Peace and Blessings)
